It depends upon the line type u have selected for the Sub BOM, If the line type for the sub BOM is productin yes u r right, axapta creates the order only after firming, if the line type for the sub BOM is item the system creates the planned production order for the sub BOM also when u run the MRP. In case of VENDOR it depends upon the route type and Line type. If both is set to Vendor it creates a planned production order but only after firming for the subBOM. Check this n see wat happens.

During production, there still be a sub contract production orders to consume the raw materials and produce the BOM item. The service items PO serves the purpose of an official document to subcon vendor, matching of receipt from subcon against invoice later, and costing the subcon services to the production orders. when we run Axapta master planning, Axapta only plans the production orders, the purchase order is only created after we firm the planned production orders and releasing it. you can almost consider the planned production orders as the planned purchase orders, because when the planned production order is firmed, it simultaneously (almost, after release) generate both production and purchase orders. www.prorsus.com --- In Axapta-Knowledge-Village@yahoogroups.com, "Craig Fidler" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I have setup a route with a work centre type of sub-contract.
