Hi
Sales tax can use at Folowwing cases of purchase orders; sales orders and
stock transfer orders . The rate of sales tax charged is a function of the
type of sale, the state from where the sale is being made and the forms
associated with the transaction.
it is two tye

LST & CST If a sale is made across states, it is categorized as Inter-state
sales and CST rates are applicable.

For each state there is a normal rate of local sales tax.

CST and LST numbers are captured for the company, warehouses, vendors and
customers.

The basis of computation is derived from the structure attached to the
respective order & the formula therein. Tax is loaded on inventory or posted
in a separate account as determined in the structure.

Setu the Following sequence for sales tax at *General ledger* / *set up* /
*sales tax* .

1 Define states

2 Define the forms applicable for each state

3 Define item sales tax group

4 Define sales tax rates for each state

5 Map items to item sales tax groups

6 Record CST and LST information for organization, vendors and
customers
