The X++ language is interpreted. The compiled p-code is stored in the aod file
together with the source code.
It's interpreted by the Axapta runtime.

Hi,
For the second question X++ code is compiler based.
it is actually compiled at development time to an intermediary binary format
that is then compiled to the target machine code at runtime.

Subject: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Dynamics Ax 4.0 Runtime

Hi,

Could any body let me know that which runtime dynamics
ax 4.0 uses? While installation of Dynamics Ax 4.0 the
Dot Net frmaework 2.0 is a pre requisite; but is it
for CLR or CLR interop? Also will X++ code be complied
or interpreted?

Thanks in advance
