We have a problem with the performance of master planning. The customer wants
to have a coverage time fence of 700 days and use the action and futures
messages for 100 days. I ran a test and the first time the master planning took
4.5 hr to do the task in the regeneration principle.
Now the customer added to the setuo Postpone margins as well advance margins
and the master planning has been running for almost 24 hrs.
What i noticed is when the process gets to action messages is taking forever
to do the task. I did a test using a small set of items and two setup for
action messages, one with postpone margins and one without them.
Both of them to ran completely but the one with margins created more lines,
more planned order and took 4 times more to do the actions messages that the
plan without margins.
Could someone give and advice on how can I improve the performance?
