You can manage alrets from the Basic Module-->Setup-->Alrets:

- Manage Alret rules: create or edit an alret
- Alret parameters:Batch Processing Window (days) field, enter the 
number of
days you want for due-date flexibility.

Also In the Tools menu -->option-->General Tab--> Alrets group: you 
can find some setup field:
•  How frequently to receive alerts
•  Destination of the pop-up link
•  When alerts should be sent as emails, pop-ups, or both
