Sorry everyone somehow we had a rogue dis layer in the old folder.
After a fresh copy of all the AOD files (Sys,Syp,Var) from the appl folder
into the old folder then the differences went away

Just a query but I thought if I just want to compare VAR to VAR then I only
need the VAR.AOD in the old folder (i.e. no need for the other layer files)
but this experience would seem to suggest other wise, maybe someone can help
me understand a little better?

Thanks and sorry for the false alarm
James

What is 'lot of differences'? Are they real differences? There is a setup
tab on 'compare' form, try playing around with the values on this tab.

Can anyone help explain when I take a AXVAR.AOD and copy it into the old
folder and then do Tools/DevTools/Version update/compare layers and compare
VAR and Old VAR that it comes up with lots of differences!!!

The VAR and old VAR are exactly the same

Even I do individual compare of an object its shows a lot of difference

Do I need to put the SYS and SYP also in the old folder? I dont think so
right?

I am trying on AX4.0 SP2

Thanks

James
