I played with making master planning pass serial number all the way along
the supply chain (and did get it to work)

Its not ideal but maybe somethign to consider if you need an easy visible
reference (rather than using the marking which can be very difficult for the
user to track with and personally I still dont trust anyway)

Maybe you could master plan with serial number and then in the planned
orders look to do some goruping by date or something?

The code for master planning by serial number I can provide (not sure if I
already posted to the group previously...)

Subject: [Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Order Tracking

Dear Friends,

I have one querry, My client is requiring a tracking of all Lower Level
Items of the corresponding sales order line to be linked to the sales order.

For Eg. A sales order line has an ITEM X of type BOM which can have further
subassemblies to 3 or 4 levels.

I need a linking of all orders though I use coverage period, I require all
production / purchase orders to give the reference of Sales order for which
it is procured / to be manufactured.

If anyone has any of this knowledge, ps help me at the earliest.

Thanks in Advance
Regards
Visti
