Please, explain (and document) what are your difficulties here. I think your work is an important thing in the history of the building procedure of Axiom. It's relatively difficult to understand how Axiom is built. Anyway, yes, there are a lot of "redundant functionality" in the boot code and in the code of the interpreter. This represents an important work to remove all of theses redondancies in the boot or in the interpreter code (from my point of view it's a pain and I want to say you "good luck !"). So please explain what you are doing and what difficulties you encounter. PS : I'm not a specialist of the interpreter but I wanted to say you "good luck !!" if you intend to clean up this code.
