Dear Igor, great that you found the reason. Do you think you'd have the time to document properly just the function powern? What you found is not the first bug in these 10 lines of code :-(
If you do have time, you should also look at the corresponding code for SUPXS (very likely in ISUPS which is in sups.spad.pamphlet), since the bug does not occur in that domain. (By the way, neither did the other one I fixed ages ago). The operation is called cRationalPower(uts,r) there. If you don't, please say so.
