Unfortunately the Tutorial book cannot be changed without releasing a whole new version. The choice was to release the book with or without an ISBN. This choice has implications. An ISBN book can only have minor typo-style edits. An ISBN book can be ordered by universities, book stores, etc. An ISBN book can be picked up by B&N, Amazon, etc. An ISBN costs money to register ($140) A non-ISBN book can be changed at any time A non-ISBN book cannot be purchase-ordered (eliminates most univs) A non-ISBN book cannot be picked up by B&N, Amazon, etc. A non-ISBN book is free So I decided that the cost, which allowed much wider distribution, was worth the restriction that it could not be changed without producing a whole new version. Perhaps we can consider doing that over the christmas holidays (when I get a larger block of time to work on axiom) Of course, we have no restriction on the version in the Axiom source tree. Since you're advocating the change, you're volunteering, right? :-) :-) (Heck, if you want you can even put YOUR name on the cover instead of mine) t _______________________________________________ Axiom-developer mailing list Axiom-developer@nongnu.org http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/axiom-developer
