I was able to compile/run on Mac OS 10.4.9 (PPC) successfully. In order to
build on this one I needed to install GNU libtool 1.5.22. Seems like the
standard libtool version which comes with Mac OS (1.5) has a small bug which
prevents building using it on PPC. Once the newer version is installed the bug
seems gone.
