I wanted to poll the committers before I did anything to fix this [1] bug Basically, the problem is name collisions between the generated package and class names. WSDL2Java provides options to get around this but it would be preferable if the tool automatically dealt with these types of collisions. There are a number of potential solutions...
1. Check for a collision and IF there is one, append a "_pkg" to the end of the package name. 2. Prepend a "wsdl." or "pkg." to all package names regardless of whether or not there is a collision Are there other options and what is your prefered solution? The JAX-RPC specification doesn't help answer the question, I already checked.
