SimpleAxisServer is something is is very useful, and is supported in the sense that it works and we expect to continue to make sure it works. The only reason we don't 'support' it is various committers didn't want to have to deal with bugs on the order of "SAS doesn't handle my 1000 user load". I see no harm is describing it, the same way that we describe tcpmon, but we don't expect to provide significant enhancements to it. +1 to including the patch in the documentation.
