Daniel Beland commented on AXIS-2542:
-------------------------------------

We had some really odd behavior when we run the tests.
We test them concurrently with JMeter, all of them installed on the same tomcat.

At first the new code (1.4) was really slower compared to our reference (1.3).
So we deployed the new code with 1.3, tested the 3 of them and 1.4 was slower.

Yesterday all of them became slow and today both the new code (with 1.3 and
1.4) are faster than the reference.

We still don't know what is our problem, though we suspect something with the
network and proxy configuration, but I think we can conclude that axis has
nothing to do in it. So you can close the issue.

Sorry for all that.

> Priority: Critical
>
> There is a big performance degradation when I upgrade to axis 1.4
> Right now we were using Axis 1.3, document/literal and starting from the WSDL
> Here are the libraries I currently use:
> http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/axis/jars/axis-jaxrpc-1.3.jar
> http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/axis/jars/axis-saaj-1.3.jar
> http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/axis/jars/axis-wsdl4j-1.3.jar
> When I swicth to axis 1.4 using the following libraries:
> http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/axis/jars/axis-jaxrpc-1.4.jar
> http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/axis/jars/axis-saaj-1.4.jar
> http://www.ibiblio.org/maven/axis/jars/axis-wsdl4j-1.5.1.jar
> The performance are 4 times slower (Using load testing with JMeter).
> Nothing else is changed except the axis libraries, no attachments are
> involved in the tests.
