Hmm.. I guess you are talking about maven2. If maven2 does that it'll be awesom. Any idea whether this is possible in Maven 1 ?

That's what exactly what we do, but the "mounting" is logical. The interdependencies are set to the projects instead of jars by the maven eclipse plugin if you run mvn eclipse:eclipse from the root.
