Benjamin Maisano commented on AXIS2-2152:
-----------------------------------------

Ok I've found out some more infomration. This does seem to be "shell" related.
I changed the axis2 scripts in bin which use "/bin/sh" to use "/bin/ksh" the
korn shell, and this problem went away. I'm not sure why, or if this is a
Solaris only problem, or our implementation. If anyone ever sees this error it
may be a shell problem so just try your default shell and not the /bin/sh one.
Hope this helps, and any other info about this would be nice, thanks.

> I downloaded and extracted the Axis2 1.1.1 zip standalone distribution on my
> Solaris machine. Set the JAVA_HOME to a valid 1.4.2 JDK and set the
> AXIS2_HOME to /home/basics/axis2/axis2-1.1.1, which is where I extracted the
> distribution to. When I try to startup the server using
> $AXIS2_HOME/bin/axis2server.sh I get the following error message almost
> immediately:
> axis2server.sh: AXIS2_HOME=/home/basics/axis2/axis2-1.1.1: is not an
> identifier
> I'm not sure what "is not an identifier" for a directory means. Is this
> because I'm on Solaris, which isn't listed as a supported OS, though I was
> hoping it would just work here. Note I've done this successfully on Windows
> and Linus with no problems, so I'm familiar with the standard install and
> conf of axis2. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
