Gertjan,
Thanks for the patch. Yes, you are entitled to a reply. I added a
switch which is right now only available for the command line
WSDL2Java. I reviewed your patch thoroughly before going this route.
The basic issue was that this flag is available/needed only for
xmlbeans and is not at all related to any other databindings. The code
changes in ant/maven etc assumed changes were for all databindings. If
we do this right, then we should provide a switch where jibx's binding
file flag is also available everywhere else. For this release i'd like
to keep it this way and mark the "feature" as experimental for that
reason. When we get the balance right, we will update all the
plugins/ant/maven2 etc and the docs accordingly.
thanks,
dims

No answer from anyone? Does nobody know? I think I'm entitled to a
straight answer since a. I did provide a patch for this issue that fixed
all but the Eclipse plugin[*] and b. updated the documentation.
Apparently, my patch was not used, but another solution was applied,
which is fine by me; someone who knows the code better than I do could
probably come up with a better alternative. What is unclear to me from
the svn commits is how I would use this fix from e.g. the
axis2-wsdl2code-maven-plugin. Now anyone who uses this plugin, has a
couple of WSDL files in his/her project, and has run mvn site several
times knows that you would really want this option. Otherwise you end
up with hundreds and hundreds of megabytes of useless
.../resources/schemaorg_apache_xmlbeans/system/s0... directories, all
slightly different. (A similar situation would arise for those using Ant.)
So, in short, I would like to hear whether this issue is fixed and how.
Please.
[*] And that's only because my knowlegde of Eclipse plugin development
is lacking.
Regards,
