Thanks... you were correct! I found an example that stated it was for Axis2 but obviously that was incorrect. Once I built myself an aar and the followed the rest of the reqs for Axis2 I was able to deploy and call the web service. Still not sure why Axis2 would not validate. I did ensure I followed the install instructions for Axis2. Maybe its some sort of classpath issue?
