Tony Dean commented on AXIS2-3888:
----------------------------------
This turns out to be a bug in xmlsec which rampart is dependent upon. The
xmlsec.jar that Axis2 distributes with version 1.3 has UTF-8 conversion bugs.
UTF-8 bugs are fixed in the latest version of xmlsec.
> Axis2 client code is not transporting Asian national lang characters correctly

> Key: AXIS2-3888
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-3888
> Project: Axis 2.0 (Axis2)
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: kernel
> Affects Versions: 1.4
> Environment: Windows 32-bit
> Reporter: Tony Dean
>
> Asian characters are not converted from UTF-16 to UTF-8 correctly for
> transporting to target service. Target services can therefore not function
> properly if they are expecting national lang characters.
> Verified that the JVM is working correctly by testing
> String.getBytes("UTF-8")... the characters look fine in this case so must be
> an Axis2 bug.
