HTTP 1.1

I am using Axis 1.2.1 for my Web Service client. I am issuing HTTP 1.0 requests and the server is sending me HTTP 1.1 responses. Can I configure my client to use HTTP 1.1 instead of 1.0?   Thank you Fady
