I've seen no problems.
Axis's thread's lifecycle is managed by your servlet container, running
on a JavaVM. If you are seeing unstable behavior, I think those are the
places to look, not Axis.
But it sounds like you are encountering network problems (response is
slow, sometimes even no response?). Maybe that's a place to start
looking at.
