If i write a web service as I have been doing so far, (just a normail webservice that a client calls and i give it a response)

if a client wants it async - then it's up to the Client to do that. I don't have to re-write my web service?

Nope, Axis2 async operations are client side only. Which makes sense,
as the service is deployed one way and its up to the client to decide
how to interact with it.

Now in the source distro there are some JMS tests that might do what you need.
