It is not possible to deploy without an AAR. I am not sure why axis2 moved to this model.  For scalability reasons alone, this model fails.  I would only ever deploy a single service per axis2 web app.  Not sure what the push to make axis2 a container is when we already have servlet containers and j2ee containers freely available.

Anyone know why?
