I'm new here, but I'll take a stab at it... My understanding is that there are different class loaders for axis itself, and for the aars (maybe there is one for each aar?) Anyway, the easiest way around this is to add the log4j jar file to the axis lib directory (outside the aar), or to the tomcat shared lib directory. Hope this helps Michael Davis
