Wes, Here is a great article describing the details of RPC vs. Document Literal (and Doc Lit Wrapped as well). http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/webservices/library/ws-whichwsdl/
There are really four styles, RPC/Lit, RPC/Encoded, Doc/Lit and Doc/Encoded, with Doc/Encoded not even sanctioned by the WSI and nobody uses it at all. The article is quite dated now, because it suggests that there are occasions when RPC is better than Doc. Currently, the web services world has drifted far more to Doc/Lit. Doc is preferred over RPC for interoperability concerns, mostly. -jeff -----Original Message----- From: Gamble, Wesley (WG10) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2007 12:16 AM To: axis-user@ws.apache.org Subject: RE: AXIS2? Anne, Can you elaborate on "document style rather than RPC style"? Why is document style preferable? Thanks, Wes In either case, you should use document style rather than RPC style.
