Subject: Life cycle of published classes ?

Hi,

I'd like to find some information about life-cycle of objects published as
web-services.

Apparently, each time a service is called, the associated object is
instantiated and used.
Are there any parameters in the deployment descriptor to say that only 1
instance of the object should be used ?

This would help to manage sessions or optimize connections to other
components (ex : JDBC connection, authentication on a mail server...).

Thanks for your help,

Stéphane.
