No I didn't evaluate Apache SOAP or Sun JWSDP due to time constraints, I took a gamble and it seemed to pay off. Because I wanted to use RPC, the decision to use axis over Apache SOAP was trivial (the latter doesn't support automatic generation of WSDL, WSDD, and java stubs/skeletons as far as I know). I'm not even sure whether Sun JWSDP is an alternative to axis, or just a specification. Questions about that in this and other forums seem to go unanswered, so if you do have the time to evaluate and compare them I would be interested to hear your results!
When I asked a similar question in com.lang.java.programmer newsgroup, someone mentioned GLUE as another alternative. I didn't look into it at all, and the person who mentioned it hadn't actually used it, so it may be something completely irrelevant. Good luck, and please let me know what you find out. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Westerdale, Daniel" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, July 03, 2002 2:33 AM Subject: RE: [NEWBIE] Axis or SOAP > > Did you evaluate Apache SOAP before going straight to Axis? > Is there a doc anywhere in the universe which outlines the differences > between Apache SOAP verses Axis verses Sun's Java Web Services Developer > Pack 1.0.
