Well, as long as you use HTTP cookies for session management (the 
default), which has nothing axis-specific to it. That is why it is 
supported out of the box by MSSOAP.
Of course, when it comes to mapping custom types you have to define 
your mappings/types twice.

And sometimes you could be experiencing imcompatibilities between 
axis and other implementations. Issues, which will hopefully be 
resolved when all implementations support all of the standard 
properly (ha-ha, it doesn't even work with HTML).
