I agree, the docs need to be updated with better instructions on how to get the different versions of Tomcat configured and how to do the deployment. Even an FAQ on the Axis page(which answers these recurring setup issues) would be a big improvement.

Not that I care since I don't plan on using them anyway but rather for users of this list that care.
Note to Doc Writers: When the first example fails I never go to the next more complicated example since if the first fails how can something more complicated posibly work? This is confusing for people

I went through something similar. Remove the server-config.wsdd file that you created then deploy the samples.userguide.example3. Look at Custom Deployment - Introducing WSDD for complete instructions on how to do this. The server-config.wsdd will be created and you can see that the 'MyService' service is deployed from the View Services link.

I'm thinking my /WEB-INF/server-config.wsdd file is wrong. Can someone please post what this file should be and then add it to the download?
