as far as i know there is no sample to demonstrate how to use WSIF async operations (i have added this to our TODO list for WSIF) and currently documentation is very limited (pretty much only what is in Javadoc for WSIFOperation and related classes).
however you can look on test/async to see how API is used and tested.
