But you should be carefully, in which book you are buying. Building web
sxervices with Java is based on apache axis pre-beta-version of axis. So it
will not help (it did not help me alot) developing with axis especially. To
learn about xml, web services and SOAP it is good, but not more.

To learn about XML, RPC, XML-RPC, SOAP and web services as well as SAX, DOM,
JDOM and JAXP the O'Reilly book java & XML helped me a lot.

I'm half way through Sams "Building Web Services with Java" and found it a
pretty good read.  It's got a good primer chapter on XML and focuses on WS
development on Apache Axis.
