Yes, that's exactly what I mean.  I'm hoping for a solid framework for
some of the specifics of WSRP (not only auto-generating, but support for
portlet instances, configurations, etc).  I'm about to try to convince
the bosses to do this work and submit it to Apache, rather than
completely home-grown.

I don't see a reason why you couldn't build a WSRP service with Axis.
WSRP is built on SOAP, and Axis provides a SOAP 1.1 and 1.2 compliant
SOAP platform. Are you asking for a WSRP framework based on Axis --
something that auto-generates WSRP interfaces?

I'd love to hear more about your plans for WSRP.
