Thank you for your help! I've done what you proposed and I still have the same
error. I double check in server-config.wsdd and I see the web service being registered
in the latter file. I upgraded to axis 1.1 final release and still no luck... Anything
else i can do to pin point the problem?

Did you undeploy the service before redeploying it?
You may want to undeploy it, and if you can't get that to work just
delete server-config.wsdd and restart Tomcat (server-config.wsdd should
be in webapps/axis/WEB-INF, at least on my system).
Then redeploy it, and see what you get.
