in the start up of the server provide  this option and try it out
-Xms64m -Xmx312m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m

if your are using tomcat ,in catalina.bat set CATALINA_OPTS
= -Xms64m -Xmx312m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m
