I am also a newbie for Axis and just installed (yesterday) 1.2-alpha on Tomcat 5.0.16 and failed the validation test. I found that meticulously following the advice on classpath issues at http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/install.html <http://ws.apache.org/axis/java/install.html> solved the classpath validations (and I didn't have to put xercesImpl.jar and xmlapis.jar in the \common\lib directory, only made sure they were in %AXISCLASSPATH%). The JavaMail and security warnings are only warnings - not show-stoppers. If you want those objects, drop the jars in the \webapps\axis\web-inf\lib directory and add them to %AXISCLASSPATH%. Mark

Warning: could not find class org.apache.xml.security.Init from file xmlsec.jar XML Security is not supported See http://xml.apache.org/security/ <http://xml.apache.org/security/> I have downloaded "xmlsec.jar" file as well and added it into classpath but still getting this warning... I would be obliged if I get answer asap.. Rgrds. Safdar.
