I'm Stefano Errani, an italian freelance developer.
I have a web site on Linux Red Hat server using Apache Web Server 1.3.29 and Tomcat 4.1.
This is on hosting server with others sites.
For this reason I can use only one web application that is situated in the public directory of my web site.
In it I have upload all the files taken from the Axis directory of zip file downloaded from your site (Axis 1.1 final); subdirectories includes.
In really I have rename the file index.html in axis.html.
In the lib subdir I have uploaded all the obligatory and the optional external libraris as activation, log4j, xmlrpc, etc.
Then I have tried to run the url http://www.stefanoerrani.it/axis.html and the page is been loaded.
If I click on the Validate link the page display that all run correctly.
If I click on View link all the web services are present and deployed.
If I click on wsdl link of the services it return an http404 page not found error.
Then I try to run http://www.stefanoerrani.it/EchoHeaders.jws?wsdl
In this case I have viewed the source code of the jws file and not the xml generated.
Why I have those problems?
I have an internal Win2k server installed on my PC and I have installed Axis on the axis directory of the Tomcat's webapps folder.
All run correctly.
I think that the problem that I have on my site depends on the configuration of Axis.
How I can resolve the problem?
My objective is to make to work my web service recalled from the client and that it communicates through Soap protocol.
