Hi Marc,

I'm sorry you could not get an alpha-version from CVS but you can get a
source-snap-shot from my AxKit-implementation for Apache2. I'll upload a
new version on monday where I have sorted out some problems. Still at
the moment this version doesn't has all the possibilities AxKit provides
to you at the moment still the most important parts are working:

+ Processor-chain
+ Cache + Dependencies
+ Providers (for simply XML-Files you don't need any Provider anymore)

To learn how TomKit works you have 2 sources:
- - t/*.t
- - read the source

And I haven't tried to setup TomKit using Makefile.PL so the best thing
would be that you link TomKit directly to your lib-path instead of
installing it using perl Makefile.PL.

Tod and I are currently talking about a replacement for TagLibs but to
be honest I don't know if we could replace the TagLib-Stuff completely
and maybe I need to take a look at the actual TagLib-modules still
everything you could do with TagLibs could also be done using Providers
with the benefit of caching so that's not really a very high priority at
the moment.

The following URL could be used to fetch AxKit2 I named TomKit for the
moment. Please note we are at the very early stages of an implemenation
and I can not promise that this will ever get AxKit successor but who
knows. What I can promise to you is that it will get released under the
Apache Licence 2.0 or Perl-Licence.

Please also note that the actual implemenation will only work with mp2
version using Apach2::-Namespace.

Hopefully someday I'll get up a subversion repository to share the code.
Having said that whole maybe not very interesting stuff here's the URL.

Nevertheless it's not a big deal to run both Apache2 and Apache1 on the
same machine without having troubles.

Tom
