Hi all,
With a bit of help from Sam I got the Unity JHBuild module to cleanly
build the entire Compiz stack as well - keeping *everything* installed
and running cleanly under ~/unity/install.
This comes in very handy when fx. debugging branches requiring ABI
breaks etc (i am looking at you
lp:~compiz-team/compiz-core/oneiric.use_server_windows :-D). Just rm -rf
~/unity/{build,install,source}, change the compiz repo in unity.modules,
and run a full rebuild. No more hosing your system under /usr or tedious
manual envvar/sudo management under /opt.
As usual start by reading
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~unity-team/unity-jhbuild/trunk/view/head:/README
if you want to get your feet wet.
Cheers,
Mikkel
