You are right. The problem I was trying to address is that people will forget to set the "presentation" state before switching to full screen, not deciding which notifications may be embrassing or which applications are likely to be presentations.

So let's try to solve that problem. A possibility is to issue a notification when an application goes full-screen, saying "notifications will be displayed, switch to presentation mode to suppress them".
