Hi Linda, I am not sure yet exactly how my GG Aunt Mary Pavao? spelled her name but am looking in all the spellings. I do know or think she came from the Island of Faial from what the records show but do not know the town yet. She came and settled in Cambridge, Mass. her daughter (Mary Silva) maiden name (Mary Machado 2nd marr.), Mary DeFreitas 3rd marr.) is still alive and is about 90 yrs old but lives in a rest home and I only have one Aunt here that still talks to her once in a while. My Aunt here in San Diego (Theresa Silva-maiden name) is going to ask how she spelled her last name and if she remembers anything about the Father that left them and they never saw again. Her father Frank Silva is my GG grandfather paternal side. I don't really know any part of that family because they all lived back in Mass. Around Boston, Cambridge, Gloucester, Martha's Vineyard and Tuksbery. Hopefully my aunt here will call her before she passes away. I know I also have the Rose family relatives but have not yet to find any living yet in Mass. So the search continues. Thanks for all your help and for listening. We all have some of the same stories about our families and it is interesting to read them all from everyone for me at least.
