Hello Group, Does anyone know the names of the Fraternal Organizations, for men or women, that existed in New Bedford, Massachusetts during the time span of 1885 to 1917?
I am hoping that either my grandfather or his parents (all born in the Azores) were members of such organizatons. I have been at a brick wall for a year and a half, and unable to find any more info on them during the time they lived in New Bedford. I am hoping that records from such an organization would give me the names of the towns they came from in the Azores, so that I can begin searching the Azores records.
