This have been a fruitful week for me. After searching for about 7 or 8
years for 2 marriage records, with the help of a researcher friend, I
believe I have finally found them. I had been looking for Maria Victor or
Maria Machado....lo and behold, she is listed as Maria Dores - never heard
her called that before but everything in the record fits! I had been
looking for Paul Victor or Paul Sylvia...lo and behold he is listed as Paul
Devide...when does Sylvia or Victor become Devide...I contacted the church
they were married in and it is also Devide on the church record. I know it
is him, the age is right, where he was born is right, his wife's name is
right, where she was born is right, her age is right, her mother's name is
right...so, again I ask, when does Sylvia or Victor become Devide? I
checked Ancestry, there are no Devide's listed. I can't wait to get the
Notification of Intention of Marriage to see what is listed there since the
NEHGS record lists him as Devide also. Any wonder why people think we
genealogist are somewhat strange?
