Hopefully Kathy Y can help me out. I know Miguel was Jewish but don't know the
religion of Maria Rocha.  Maria Rocha was married before she married Miguel
Sereque in Boston.  She was from Flores and I would guess  her first marriage
was there.  Her birth date: 1846 and the date she married Miguel 1878.  Her
parents were: Manuel I. and Antonia L. Rocha whom I assume were still in Flores.
I also have Benarus relatives who may still be Jewish.  Some lived on another
Azorian island and some in Lisbon.  They were born around and after 1840.
Mariana Benarus married Abrahão Seriqui.
Thanks for any help!
