Hi Margaret,

Just a guess at what it means, but could it be saying that Domingo
Fagundes was a former black slave? The words that come closest in my
dictionary refer to blacks and salves.

Hello All,

Would someone please let me know if they're familiar with the word
written after Fagundes. I am reading it as "negrete" and don't know
what it might mean?

Thank you in advance.

Margaret
