Why? Because just as I may drive to Sacramento, Sutter or Yuba Counties from my county of Placer to do business, so did our relatives. I live in the country and am pretty much right in the middle of being able to drive to all these counties the same distance from my home. Anyhow, they may have been working in that area, delivering hay, or whatever and stopped at an office to be naturalized. Ever since then I keep an open mind on all research to never limit myself to the immediate area of where my family lived. BTW, another example, even though we lived in Placer County when our son was in High School, his school "district" was in another county. His high school was closer to our home (besides being in the district), then the high school in the town in which we live.
