Edward,

Emigration OUT of the Azores for the port of Ponta Delgada for the years
1902 & 1903 are online at the Centro de Conhecimento dos Acores (Center for
Knowledge of the Azores) or CCA Web site:
http://pg.azores.gov.pt/drac/cca/ig/
Click "Passaportes" on the right.
Click "Ponta Delgada" on the next screen.
Click 1900-1902 on the next screen.

Do not use Firefox (Mozilla) to access this web site. It stops working part
of the way through.

You're going to have to randomly click around until you find the beginning
of the 1902 emigration.

Look for a Francisco and Maria de Mello traveling together with a child,
Eduardo of the right ages. The far right side will say their destination
(may say Mass or may give the specific location in Mass). Once you've found
a family of a Francisco, Maria, and small Eduardo, copy the URL and post it
and someone here will tell you want the rest of the document says.

There is no index. You have to hunt through the records to find their
emigration out of the Azores. But the 1902-1903 lists will tell you which
freguesia (village) that your family is from.

Achada
