Well, I , too, thought I was descended from Vand der Hagen and Margarita....I love history and I like to write lots of notes with my genealogy information. It didn't take me long to discover that Guill had made an error. I can't understand it. Well, the man was a historian, not a genealogist. I've been told that there are other errors in his genealogy. I was on Medieval Genealogy List and someone asked about Van der Hagen being a son of John the Fearless, and it was ridiculed. Think, too, how could such a nobleman come to live in the Azores...a man used to living a rich life. and to think a woman such as Margarida, raised as a princess could come to live in the Azores. Also Margarida, living on Sao Jorge, was giving birth to children, while the real Margarida was dead in Stuttgart. Toni In a message dated 3/16/2011 1:56:37 P.M. I'm a bit confused because several years ago I was told that Wilhem's wife was Margarita de Azumbuja.....not Margarida of Savoie.
