How exciting for you Eric!

I have the same situation with Rodrigues in my line and the Da Rosa's. Some
listings show, Rosa, Roza as well as DeRosa, DeRoza, DaRosa and DaRoza and
I've even found them under Rose. I find at time, it takes twice as long to
search these family members.searching in the D's then again in the R's.

Curious did you find any of these family members below at the UPPEC or UPEC?
Did you find a birth record for the daughter Mary Miller? Have you found
your Great-Great Grandmother Mary anywhere? Could it be she may have
remarried?

I'm sure you've checked into all these but thought I'd ask.

Congratulations!

Update!

I went to Sacramento on April 8th and it didn't move me any closer to
finding where he is buried. I did however, get a picture of my other
great-great-grandparents gravestone in Sacramento. When I came back home, I
had received an email from the County regarding the order I placed for
Manuel's death certificate. They said that the could not find it. I
responded to them and gave them the certificate number from the California
Death Index.

Fast-forward to April 13, I received the death certificate in the mail from
the County. It told me where he was buried, St. Mary's Cemetery in Oakland,
CA. The problem that I ran into that caused the whole fiasco was the fact
that he was registered as Manuel Rodriguez in the death index. This was
even more apparent on the certificate itself... my great-great grandmother
signed the document as Mrs. Mary Rodriguez. I am not sure why she did that
because everything else is Rodrigues with an s.

On April 14, I showed the Death Certificate to my grandmother and she was
impressed that I had found it and was interested in seeing it. During the
conversation she reminded me that both of her grandfather's were killed by
trains in Oakland and... her great-uncle was also killed by a train.

On April 16, I went to the cemetery and had a little difficulty in finding
his documents. According to the death certificate, he was buried on June
13, 1927. We went to the journal entry for June 13, 1927 and it said he was
buried in Unconsecrated Ground. Dead end... Additionally, it said that he
was buried in a 2 foot casket. The first problem was that the people at the
Cemetery did not know where the Unconsecrated Ground was from so long ago.
It was never marked.

I then pointed out to the person that there was another Rodrigues on the
page. And he was buried in a marked grave. Well, it turned out that that
was my great-great grandfather. While I was looking at the book, I figured
I would see if I could find my great-great-grandmother's grave as well, just
in case I got out to the gravesite and she was not buried with him. I could
not find any records in there journal.

I went out to the grave and there was a marker... the photo is attached.

There is a Mary buried with him, but she was buried as his daughter. So
there is the next brick wall... I now have to figure out where my
great-great-grandmother is buried.

I looked into the records for the Mary that was buried with him and her name
was Mary Miller. She passed on November 14, 1940, cause of death Cerebral
Thrombosa at Fairmont Hospital in San Leandro, CA.
