I don’t have much information about the Mirandas. Like I said, he was my great grandmother’s second husband. The info I have is from their headstone, cemetery records and census’. His first wife’s name was Maria 1856 – 1908. He’s buried with both of his wives. The second wife is Roza Pacheco Fernandes Miranda (my great grandmother) 1857 – 1938. Miranda was not my great grandfather. Her first husband, Luis Fernandes was. Manuel Miranda and Roza raised her granddaughter Rose and when Rose was about eighteen she was married to his youngest son Frank. I have a Manuel V. Miranda 1847 – 1923 who was my great grandmother’s second husband. I know he was born in the Azores. I’m pretty sure it was Sao Miguel but I don’t have any documents to prove the island. He had two sons that I know of. Antone Miranda 1879 – 1942 born in the Azores and Frank P. Miranda 1891 – 1931 born in the US who married my grandmother’s sister. (Yep, he married his step-niece who was 20 years younger. Yuk!) They lived in the San Jose Calif. area and are buried at Calvery Cemetery in San Jose, CA.
