Katharine, If you look at the words "hidden" or Crypt you will note the meaning of these words.
Some people may have held on or passed on their hidden teachings encrypted in Christian's faith and traditions. I along with all other Azorean's of my time and those before me were raised in this encrypted culture as Catholics and when I compare notes with my Jewish friends the similarities are incredible but my ancestors died and were buried in the Christian cemeteries. The Santa Clara cemetery is private and belongs to the Bensaude family. It is high walled and the gate is of solid wood. I trust this will be of some help.
